For beauty addicts out there, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Supersonic Hair Dryer by Dyson. Recently there are a lot reviews on it and I thought I should share my personal experience with you guys.

A closer look on the kit.
It took me about 3 – 4 weeks to really enjoy my experience with this new Dyson technology mechanism and understand why it is different from other hair dryers in the market.
Sleek Design & Versatile Settings
This has got to be the most fancy hair dryer I’ve seen in my life. The design is sleek, sophisticated and super unique! And it comes in Fuchsia color! How to not catch a girl’s eyes?
And it’s like a mini version of Dyson Cooling Fans. (No spinning blades! You should check it out!) There are only four buttons on this hair dryer but it comes with 3 precise speed settings and 3 precise heat settings, on & off sliding switch, and a cold shot button.

And only the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer comes with magnetic attachments so you can adjust quickly and easily. Gone were the days we squeeze in the attachments on conventional hair dryers only to be afraid it will fall off half way blow-drying our hair!
Ultra Fast Drying
It used to take forever for me before this to blow dry my hair. And most of the time I don’t blow-dry my hair completely because my hair, especially the ends tend to get really dry afterwards.
With much controlled and high velocity airflow, the speed to blow-dry my hair completely with the Supersonic totally blew me away. I would say it probably halved my drying time compared to my old hair-dryer (salon use type). In this design, it allows you to blow your hair in any angle too, super convenient!
Weight Balance
This hair dryer is engineered for balance. Dyson has turned conventional hair dryers on its head and put the motor in the handle, thus making it a lighter and more balanced machine. It is definitely a relief for tired arms. Even with the diffuser on it doesn’t make a big difference!
Safe to Use
Not sure if any of you have experienced this, but I’ve gotten my hair stuck at the end of my old hair-dryer before (right at the end where the air flows in). It was such a painful experience I had to cut my hair off L With this new design you do not need to be afraid of getting hair trapped at all. I even try to poke through my finger to the ‘hole’ and felt nothing haha! Even Jacob knows how to use it!
Did you know that heat damage on hair starts at 125 degrees? Damaged hair from heat is also irreparable. Conventional hair dryers can go up to 180 degrees and even over 200 degrees in some cases. Heat damage makes the hair look porous, giving it a dull look. Dyson’s intelligent heat control system regulates heat to never go beyond 125 degrees – maintaining a healthy glossy look. That’s the beauty of this Supersonic hairdryer!
Most of the hair dryers get quite hot after used. Sometimes I’m afraid to remove the nozzle so I usually let it to cool down first. Well, good news for you! One of the biggest selling points of this Supersonic is that the surfaces of the attachments stay cool thanks to the Heat Shield technology. Even during close-up styling! The thermal sensor on the Supersonic measures the exit flow temperature, therefore, it is able to control the heat it was producing to keep you safe. With the heat control, it doesn’t damage your hair too. Plus, it is also integrated with an ionizer to help reduce static.
My Final Verdict
I must say that the Supersonic feels really different as compared to my old hair dryer. It’s undoubtedly faster and safer to use. Every time after use, it leaves my hair smoother and straighter in less time. I have never had such shiny and smooth hair from DIY blow dry before! After a month use, I realized I have lesser split ends and my hair begins to look much healthier. My hair looks on point the next day when I wake up too! Understand that the price is a bit on the steep side by hair dryer standards, you should test it out yourself in Sephora like I did the first time. And if you wash your hair every single day then I would recommend you to invest in one. I can’t stress enough that this Supersonic really does the job so well. Definitely a game changer in hair dryers.
