EVENT, JACO3OY

Jaco3oy’s 2nd Birthday Party

With a blink of an eye, Jacob is already two! I was initially contemplating if it was necessary to hold a birthday party for Jacob since we already had a Mickey themed party when he turned one last year. It was not until the very first sponsorship came in and a few others followed subsequently that had prompted me to initiate organising another birthday party for Jacob.

So the big question came as to which theme to pick for the party! Jacob is a big fan of both Mickey and Elmo of Sesame Street. Since we already had Mickey last year, I thought it was only appropriate to give Elmo “a chance” this year. There was actually a small hiccup few weeks leading up to the party when I thought I had to replace Elmo with Mickey instead. That happened right after we brought Jacob to Hong Kong Disneyland and soon after the trip, Jacob was super obsessed with Mickey and he insisted on wearing only Mickey outfits consecutively for many days.

“Do you like Mickey or Elmo?” “Do you like Elmo or Mickey?” Without failed, Jacob’s reply to both questions was always “Mickey”!! *stressed* =.=” It was a difficult decision to change then as I had already confirmed with all my sponsors and party organiser that it would be an ELMO THEMED PARTY! Thank goodness, kids being kids, they tend to be forgetful and are very receptive to all things that they like and favour *phew*. Jacob still loves Elmo and he still loves dancing to the Elmo’s Song every time we play it. So it was then we finally concluded that Jacob’s 2nd birthday party’s theme shall be none other than….*drum rolls please* ELMO!!  😀

Jacob is truly a very blessed child and we were very fortunate and honoured to be offered with a few sponsorship in conjunction with his 2nd birthday party (and that saves up a lot of hassle and money for me, thank you all sponsors *teary eyes*)!

Firstly, we had La Memoria Wedding Event who kindly sponsored us a customised backdrop with all cartoon characters from Sesame Street and a beautifully crafted Sesame Street London Bus as photobooth backdrop. Both kids and adults had fun taking photographs with these pretty backdrops and such decorations had definitely lighted up the whole party venue! They simply made all the guests, even the adults, to feel that we were in the fantasy world of Sesame Street 😀 Thank you La Memoria for making the kids’ dreams come true! 🙂

It is in the recent trend that no event would be complete without a fun to have photobooth which captures some of the happy moments of our guests and leave them going home happily with a print out of the high quality photos from the booth 🙂 We were also very grateful to have WOW Photobooth who brought in a photobooth and stationed it at the party venue that allowed all our guests (from babies to adults) to pose and take some instant photographs with the props. Almost everyone who was present had a chance to pose and go home with a nice photo of themselves with the props. Thank you WOW Photobooth for WoW-ing our guests with your excellent service! 🙂

Since it was a kids’ party, I thought it was necessary to organise some games or programme to keep the kids organised and entertained during the party (rather than letting them running around and losing control). I was therefore very pleased and thankful when Euvince of George Da Art offered to set up an art corner for all the kids. Euvince had earlier prepared bits and pieces of the art works and during the art session with the kids, she patiently guided them through step by step on how to assemble all pieces into one final masterpiece. The artworks that the kids made during the party was an Elmo party hat and a crystal ball with two choices of Sesame Street characters. Thank you Euvince for such thoughtful arrangement and for making sure that the kids were well entertained! 🙂

Jacob loves orange juice and we were really fortunate to have This Juice to specially prepare glass bottles of fresh orange juice and passion fruit juice for all our guests. The juice bottles came nicely decorated with the party theme as each of the bottles was custom made with our requests. Thank you This Juice for quenching our thirst! 🙂

We were also very grateful for the super adorable Elmo and Cookie Monster’s macaroons by The Ship Patisserie and the yummilicious cheesecake tarts by The Cheese Bakery. The macaroons were simply too cute and too irresistible! I could not bear to swallow them into my stomach (although I actually did) :p The cheesecake tarts, on the other hand, were super yummy! We wished we had more of these desserts to offer to our guests! Thank you both bakeries for giving our guests such gastronomic experience! 🙂

Besides the kids, as a host, we had to also ensure that the adults were well taken care of. For this, we were thankful to have SodaXpress for setting up a cosy cocktail bar for our guests. While the adults were leisurely sipping in and enjoying their cocktails, the kids , on the other end, were busy playing with their mates and their favourite cartoon characters. It was simply a perfect combination, I could not be more thankful. Thank you SodaXpress for taking care of the parents’ needs! 🙂

Last but not least, special thanks go to all my family members, relatives, friends and guests for your attendance, blessings and gifts and for gracing and making Jacob’s 2nd birthday party such memorable one! He is so fortunate and blessed to have all your well wishes and blessings.

Alrighty, after such a long Oscar thank you speech, I shall now let the pictures do all the talkings!

Oh ya, not forgetting the “key attraction” on the sweet corner, it was none other than the four-tiered fondant birthday cake by Delectable by Su. I was thoroughly impressed by the craftsmanship of the cake and again, it was too pretty to be eaten up! :p
